# AT

AT (Administração Tributária) é o órgão público responsável por definir e controlar as obrigações fiscais dos contribuintes. Na esfera federal, o órgão responsável pela administração tributária é a Receita Federal (RFB). Ela engloba todo o conjunto de órgãos no nível federal (como a Receita Federal) e as Secretarias de Fazenda nos níveis estadual e municipal, além de servidores públicos (como os auditores fiscais) e sistemas de tecnologia voltados para gerenciar o sistema de impostos.\

A atuação de uma Administração Tributária moderna gira em torno de quatro funções principais: arrecadação, fiscalização, cobrança e contencioso e o atendimento e orientação. A Constituição Federal de 1988 (Art. 37, XXII) classifica a Administração Tributária como uma atividade essencial ao funcionamento do Estado.
