# Cavaco

Cavaco é o termo utilizado na indústria para designar pequenos pedaços de resíduos.\
São as sobras provenientes do processo de usinagem.\
Material removido da peça durante o processo de usinagem pela ação da ferramenta de corte, cujo objetivo é obter uma peça com forma e dimensões definidas.\
Dependendo das condições de corte e característica do material usinado, pode-se considerar duas características específicas para o cavaco: tipo e forma. Quanto ao tipo eles podem ser: contínuo, cisalhado e arrancado.\
Quanto à forma, podem ser: em hélice, em espiral, em fita e em vírgula, entre outras.\
Em todas as formas, o cavaco pode ser longo, curto e, ainda, emaranhado.
